Shaper Bra in Dark Olive

Active Full Leggings

I don't know about you but I really can't bear wearing jeans around the house at the moment. Seeing as we are spending our lives in doors, comfy clothing is what I need. This means I've been spending a lot of time in leggings, particularly these ones from Boody, paired with their super comfy Shaper Bra because f*ck wearing wired bras am I right?

About Boody
Boody aim to be a ethical and sustainable brand who strive to produce clothing that is "easy on the skin, hypoallergenic and highly breathable". One thing I like about Boody as a brand is that their products aren't as expensive as other sustainable brands out there and are therefore more affordable with their shaper bra retailing at £16.95.

Using organic bamboo, Boody aims to have a minimal impact on the environment. Bamboo uses less water, less CO2 and minimises deforestation so is a preferable material for making clothing.

Opting to only produce pieces in a minimalist style, it means they are brilliant staple pieces for your wardrobe.

Sizing
I am about a 34D (ish) in Bra and got a large and it fits perfectly but there is a bit of room so would probably also fit 34D, 34DD, 36C, 36D, 38B, 38C too as the size chart suggests. In the leggings I got a medium (10-12) as I am usually a size 10-12. They are a bit snug so would suggest possibly sizing up if you're in between sizes.

I did notice that their sizes only go up to a size XL (size 14-16) meaning that those who are size 16+ aren't able to shop there which is not great for making the brand inclusive of all sizes.

I discussed my concerns with Boody as a lack of inclusive sizing is a huge barrier in making more sustainable clothing accessible to all. They have informed me that their Classic Bikini Briefs and Padded Shaper bras will be available in 2XL and 3XL in 2021 and have plans to expand the size range of other items. I will be keeping an eye on their products and will post updates on this post when more sizes are available. It would be great to see Boody follow through with their plans and offer an affordable and size inclusive range of of sustainable clothing.

What are the Products Like

Well since they're made out of bamboo, they're naturally super soft which is key to finding that everyday comfort in your favourite loungewear.

The bra is very comfortable to the extent sometimes I even forget I'm wearing it. It provides enough support for me for everyday activities but wouldn't recommend wearing it when doing exercise and running.

The leggings are everything you need from a pair of leggings. They're comfy, thick enough so you can't see you underwear so you won't flash anyone during your downward facing dog. They also have a handy little pocket. I'm not sure it's big enough to fit a phone in but it's certainly a good size to keep your keys safe whilst on a walk or a run.

 The Verdict

If you're looking for a more sustainable alternative for your basics, including bras and leggings, I'd definitely consider checking out Boody, especially if you can't afford to spend £30+ on a bra.
