REVIEW: Tresemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner

Shampoo - £4.99
Conditioner - £4.99

I recently began to get tired of my VO5 shampoo and conditioner because when my hair gets used to a certain product, it seems to lose the desired effect and as a result becomes greasier. I was looking for something that keeps my hair looking and feeling soft and fabulous all the time. After perusing the shelves of Boots I found the Tresemmé Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner which was on a buy one get one free offer so I decided to give it a try.

When I first used this product I found myself thinking, "what actually is keratin?" and I can inform you that keratin is in fact the material that makes up the outer layer of human skin, nails and hair and makes them strong, therefore meaning that the shampoo and conditioner help strengthen your hair. The products also state that they will control frizz for up to 48 hours and make your hair smoother and easier to style. After using them for a few weeks I can tell you that it really does leave my hair feeling less frizzy, smooth and rarely gives you that horrible 'second-day-hair' feeling. As for strengthening, I must admit I can't really tell if my hair is any stronger after using it but it certainly looks healthier but it does still fall out as much as it used to.

The main downside to it is that it doesn't really smell of anything so just leaves your hair smelling like...well hair. I do like to have shampoos and conditioners that have a nice smell that lasts so the products do fail of the scented side but apart from that, they really are fantastic.

When I have been using them I haven't felt the need to use a hair mask to give my hair a boost as I feel that it already does this. However you can buy a Tresemmé Keratin Smooth Hair Mask if you feel that your hair needs that extra bit of care.

Have any of you used this shampoo and conditioner? Are there any other shampoos and conditioners that you recommend?
