It's Okay to have a Summer Staycation
Whilst everyone has been jetting off to sunnier climes, Sam and I decided to stay in UK. Though it's tempting to go abroad, staying closer to home suited us well this year as we're trying to save money and we're perfectly happy exploring our home country as travelling and exploring foreign countries is something we hope to do for a longer period of time than a simple holiday. We decided to try out our first Air BnB where you essentially stay in a stranger's house.
We opted for a sweet little chalet, owned by the lovely Denise, in Tywardreath, Cornwall near to Par. The chalet was in the end of her enchanted, forest-like garden that was filled with the cutest features, including a bridge, picnic table and a bell tent. Denise was an excellent host and was happy for us to use the facilities her garden had to offer, such as a fire pit which was a nice addition to a cold evening. The chalet itself was perfect for a weekend away for two and has everything you need from a mini oven, kettle, utensils etc. It was exactly like how we imagined a tiny-house would be. If you're a fan of animals, there are chickens and an incredibly friendly, or nosy, cat to keep you company.
Par is a great location for a staycation, located a short walk from the beach. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but it's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and go somewhere completely different. The village is home to a shop to get all of your necessities, a pub and restaurant, who do amazing steak and a takeaway filling all of your fish, chips and Thai curry needs. I wholeheartedly recommend Par and Denise's chalet for a perfect weekend getaway for two.
