Good Riddance 2018 & Goals for the New Year

It's safe to say that it's been the weirdest year and one hell of a rollercoaster. It's safe to say I did not really achieve any of my 2018 goals because sometimes life is just like and it throws unexpected things at you. But hey, we've got to keep going and not get bogged down by the fact that you didn't achieve the things you wanted. You are human and there's only so much you can do.

However, I have had a lot of positive elements to my year. I have gone on a bit of an environmental rampage and I'm trying to do what I can to live a more sustainable life in a way that won't entirely mess up the planet by taking small steps such as reducing how much plastic I use and embarking on my adventure into sustainable fashion. I want to continue this into the new year and work harder at it. This year I also got an amazing new job which I really enjoy and moved to a great area in Bristol that I've always wanted to live in.
I want to make 2019 a great year and start off on a positive note. I never know whether I should just not bother with goal setting. Sometimes I feel like I'm setting myself up to fail. We have high hopes at the beginning of the year and then we get lazy. However I will persist with the goal setting in the hope that it will provide some kind of guidance throughout the year. Here are my 6 goals for 2019.

1. Take More Steps To Live a Sustainable Life. I won't lie - towards the end of the year I've becoming quite lazy and have slipped into old habits of buying a lot of food in plastic packaging out of convenience. I want to start taking it more seriously again and stop being so damn lazy.

2. Go Vegan. I tried (and failed) for a bit of this year to be vegetarian and since November I have actually managed to stick with it. I want to extend this to going Vegan by 2020. Cutting out any animal based products will obviously be hard but it's something that I really want to do. However, it is going to be hard as I have just realised how much I love cheese and lets face it, Vegan cheese tastes like feet.

3. Start A History Blog. For the past 2 years I have been toying with the idea of starting a history blog to make sure that I continue to do research now that I've finished uni. I have set up the blog and written a couple of posts but I want to make the effort to actually making it go live. Watch this space.

4. Read More Books. This year I have tried to read more and it's been relatively successful. I recently got a Kindle which I absolutely love as it makes reading seem a lot less daunting and more addictive.

5. Take More Photos. This was a goal of mine last year which I still haven't achieved. I still haven't sat down and taken the time to learn how to use my camera but I am determined that 2019 will be the year for it.

6. Blog More. Would this be a New Year goals post if I didn't say I wanted to blog more? I want to create more and better quality content for my blog and generally just keep it going.
What goals are you going to set for 2019?
