Style Staples: Leather & Stripes

Primark Men's Tee // Zara Leather Skirt ( similar ) // H&M Pointed Boots ( similar ) I've been pretty quiet on here as of late which is due to the fact that I have been working a lot and napping in my spare time. A few weeks ago I managed to take some snaps in front of some of Stokes Crofts' finest graffiti whilst the sun was still out and the rain was just a distant thought. Oh those were the days. I paired two style staples together to make a simple yet effective look. Everyone looks a striped tee and a leather skirt and they look pretty awesome when put together and finished off with a pair of pointed boots, which make the outfit look a bit smarter and more put together.  What are your style staples? Vantage Point: Taking the Perfect Photo

I recently purchased myself a DSLR camera for my 21st Birthday and when I have taken it out on adventures (and actually remembered the SD card) I've been capturing some of my favourite shots. A lot of these photographs have been of plants because I've been visiting a lot of tropical gardens as of late and lets face it, plants are very photogenic and Instagram worthy. As a DSLR noob, it can be hard to get the settings right, from making sure its focused to learning all about exposures, white balance and shutter speeds and if you're not yet fully fluent it can be a bit daunting and make capturing beautiful images a heft task. These are my favourite images taken with either my Canon 700D or my sister's Nikon DSLR. You can probably understand why I like these two images as they are perfectly in focus and have that highly desire blurry background which can be hard to achieve for beginners but they both definitely took a lot of time (mainly to change the settings) and a

It's Okay to have a Summer Staycation

Whilst everyone has been jetting off to sunnier climes, Sam and I decided to stay in UK. Though it's tempting to go abroad, staying closer to home suited us well this year as we're trying to save money and we're perfectly happy exploring our home country as travelling and exploring foreign countries is something we hope to do for a longer period of time than a simple holiday. We decided to try out our first Air BnB where you essentially stay in a stranger's house.  We opted for a sweet little chalet, owned by the lovely Denise, in Tywardreath, Cornwall near to Par. The chalet was in the end of her enchanted, forest-like garden that was filled with the cutest features, including a bridge, picnic table and a bell tent. Denise was an excellent host and was happy for us to use the facilities her garden had to offer, such as a fire pit which was a nice addition to a cold evening. The chalet itself was perfect for a weekend away for two and has everything you n

Floral Tea Dress

Boohoo Dress // Vintage Coat // Primark Tights // Doc Marten Shoes  As I mentioned in an earlier post, I recently visited the Eden Project in Cornwall. The weeks leading up to my holiday, the weather was tropical and, of course, as soon as it came to me going on my holiday, it turned as miserable (hence the raincoat) as it could get and muggings here didn't pack much suitable clothing. Luckily the the inside the biomes was a tropical rainforest climate so fishnet tights were an ok decision. This dress is actually my graduation dress and I am so glad I bought one that I can wear time and time again. I kind of like how the yellow on the dress goes with the orange of the rain coat. Very odd for someone who rarely wears colour.  Don't forget to like my Facebook  page and follow me on bloglovin  and instagram: amyleehaynes!
