Beauty On a Budget

When reading other people's posts about buying beauty products on a budget I always seem to find myself thinking the products still aren't suitable for people who really are on a budget and for those who don't want to spend more than a fiver on a mascara because they want to save their money for other things. I thought that I would share a few tips on buying beauty products on a budget whilst maintaining the same quality.

Shop Around - This is probably the best tip I can give you. If there is a product that you really want but you don't want the full price on it just shop around. Make a note of what you want and look in several shops and work out which is cheapest. Also go in shops that you wouldn't expect to find what you want. For example the Garnier Body Oil is £7.49 in Boots and around the £6 mark in Tesco and ASDA but in B&M it is a mere £2.99. Places to look out for the same products at a lower price are: B&M, Home Bargains and Bodycare as they always have products for a fraction of the price.

Offers and Sales - This may be an obvious one but you can save lots of money by purchasing products when the store has a sale on. Superdrug tend to do really good sales when almost everything is reduced and Boots' 3 for 2 sale always gives you an excuse to buy more. If the product you want and you know you love is significantly reduced it may be worth buying a few to avoid spending more later.

Reviews - If you're going to invest in a product that is a little more pricey than what you'd usually pay make sure you read a range of reviews to ensure that it's worth the price. For example if you're going to dish out £20 on a foundation and then realise that it's quite greasy on your skin, you're going to be annoyed. Read reviews to make sure the product is right for you. Equally read reviews to find dupes of high end products as you will be able to get the same quality from 'drugstore' brands but at a fraction of the price. (Check out MUA Undress Me pallettes as they are a good dupe of the Naked Pallettes but are tonnes cheaper)

Cheap brands doesn't mean poor quality - It's understandable that you might be a tad sceptical of brands that sell their products for really cheap but it doesn't always mean they're going to be of a rubbish quality. I totally recommend MUA as a cheap make up brand as their products start from £1 and they are pretty good, especially their lipsticks which I tend to go on about quite a lot and even prefer them to some more expensive ones. Again read reviews to see if it's worth buying the cheaper products.

Make sure you bare these in mind the next time your buying beauty products on a budget and I really hope they're beneficial! Do you have any tips?
