Back Soon

Source: Pinterest So I haven't been blogging much recently because of the horrific pile of uni work I have had to do and now that's over I have exams. I didn't take my own advice with revision and I have left it until a few weeks before exams to actually begin which is something I never do. This means I will be well and truly AWOL for the next 3 weeks but once that's over BAM I will try and get back to posting regularly and not apologising all of the time. So please excuse me while I go and drown in a pile of books.  Don't forget to like my Facebook  page and follow me on bloglovin  and instagram: amyleehaynes!

Culottes 2 Ways: Part 2

Image
Top - Primark Culottes - Primark Shoes - Matalan Bag- Primark Chain Necklace - Topshop The other week I posted my first instalment showing a more casual way to style culottes. In this outfit I opted for more of a dressed up version or 'night' look (I hate that phrasing). Naturally, getting all dressed up for me requires head to toe in black, paired with gold accessories. It's pretty much a must for me. I really love how these heeled mule-type shoes go with culottes, I think there a perfect combination. Heels are quite an easy thing to wear with skirts and trousers that are bit lengthy as they stop us shorter ladies from looking even drastically shorter. This would be a great look for going out on summer evenings as it's a smart outfit yet it's still light and cool to avoid the heat, especially if you're spending the summer abroad.  Be sure to check out my first way of styling these Primark culottes! I Like Trains

Image
On a quick trip home back in the north, my sister and I decided to go on the East Lancashire Railway steam and diesel trains. Travelling on your everyday trains to simply get you from A to B can get monotonous. However the steam trains go through Lancashire's lovely countryside, stopping off at some of the cutest places. We visited Ramsbottom, one of my all time favourite places, for a quick dash around the antique shops, followed by Bury. It was just a nice and alternative way to get to your favourite locations rather than just bussing it everywhere. Playlist #2

Image
I've recently entered the Twenty First Century and downloaded Spotify (late to the party or what?). I have concluded that it's one of the best things that's ever happened to me and I've disocovered loads of new music and old favourites so here are some of my favourite tracks. Sufjan Stevens - All of Me Wants All of You (not a John Legend cover I swear) Circa Waves - Lost It Best Coast - Boyfriend Cranberries - Zombie Azealia Banks - 212 Bee Gees - How Deep is Your Love (don't judge me) David Bowie - Cat People Lancashire Hotpots - You Could Get Hit by a Bus Tomorrow Mohammad Rafi - Jaan Pehechaan Ho Tobias Jesso Jr. - Without You Bear's Den - Isaac Don't forget to like my Facebook  page and follow me on bloglovin  and instagram: amyleehaynes!

Culottes 2 Ways: Part 1

Image
Tee- H&M Culottes - Primark Boots - Topshop  Gold Hair Band - Primark I've finally jumped on the bandwagon and got myself some culottes. Initially I wasn't too sure how I felt about them and how they would look on me seeing as I'm quite short. However they're kind of like a midi skirt but trousers and they are pretty flatter, not to mention super comfy. I thought I'd show you 2 ways that I would style them and this is my first. This look is a daytime/casual styling. I simply paired them with a basic striped tee and my chunky Topshop boots. I will probably switch the boots for sliders when the weather is better (soon hopefully). This is a super comfy yet stylish outfit that is perfect for a warm a day just wandering around.  Stay tuned for part 2! Turtle Neck and Chunky Boots

Image
Jumper - Primark Jeans - Charity Shop Boots - Primark Watch - Casio I think my life should be titled: mom jeans, turtle necks and chunky boots because I'm pretty sure that's all that I wear. However this is a relatively new turtleneck to add to my collection and it's super soft. Admittedly my Nan has one too but that just means we've both got good taste, right? I liked it so much  I bought one in white too. What better way to wear a turtle neck than with mom jeans? My blue charity shop ones are still going strong, even if they are a tad (a lot) too big for me. These boots are glued to my feet and to say they're from Primark, they have lasted me a good while! Some of the coating is coming off but they are most certainly still wearable. Shout out to Primark!  Don't forget to like my Facebook  page and follow me on bloglovin  and instagram: amyleehaynes!
